In this series of workshops, we’ll focus on a specific set of postures, breaking them down so that they are understandable and accessible Each workshop will have an anatomical component, to deepen your understanding of your physical body and practice, as well as an exploration of the connection between the physical, energetic, and subtle body. Inversions and arm balances are often feared and avoided, feeling like advanced poses that are out of reach. However, by breaking down the postures, learning some tips and tricks, and practicing with the support of experienced teachers, these poses can become much more accessible! We'll talk anatomy + energetics, do a focussed warm up and then explore some exercises to increase strength and mobility, before flipping our world upside down and exploring poses like headstand, shoulder stand, handstand, and forearm stand, in a supportive environment. This workshop is for you if: - you have some yoga experience (are able to stay in downward facing dog for about a minute) - you love inversions and want to learn more - you're terrified of inversions (we'll break them down and guide you safely and within your comfort level!) - you would like to go deeper than is often possible in one hour classes - you want to learn the fundamentals of inversions and tools to start building the strength and mobility to access them - you're a yoga teacher looking for tools to support advancing practises * Yoga teachers: this workshop qualifies for continuing education credits through Yoga Alliance.
